In the spring, the city authorities have stated that they did not plan to expand the paid parking area. However, already at the end of July, a tender was placed on the state procurement portal to search for a contractor who will carry out work on arranging an intellectual system for monitoring parking spaces from Boulevard to Garden Ring in the fall of 2013.
The customer is the Department of Capital Repair of the city of Moscow. And the documents posted on the public services portal contain information about the need to organize 11,200 parking spaces.
The press secretary of the Road Organization Center Anastasia Kalinina confirmed this information, however, calling it “hearing”. According to her, we are talking about installing special sensors on road signs fixing the presence of cars in parking lots. The information received will be displayed on the light scoreboard.
Peter Shkumatov, the head of the “Blue Vederoks” expressed his opinion as follows: the parking will be paid paid, but at first it will function free. According to him, the authorities explain this measure as necessary for the unification of the parking space of the city center. At the same time, the appearance of paid parking lots on the Boulevard Ring led to the fact that drivers began to leave cars in the lanes. Over time, the number of “legal” places will decrease there and there. Over time, ”he added, the garden will become completely paid, but the drivers will already get used to it.
