Many of us have heard that all the most delicious of food is the least useful or generally harmful to health. So, the consumption of meat in excess of the norm can cause the appearance of both heart diseases and oncological diseases, and type 2 diabetes.
Singapore scientists once again made a warning for most people: only one sausage per day, eaten in excess of the norm, can cause an increase in the risk of developing diabetes of the 2nd type by 50%. Of course, this warning concerns not only overly eaten sausages, but also other delicious meat products (cakes, homemade hot meat, salami and other sausages, hamburgers).
For this, scientists from the University of Singapore studied the data obtained as a result of many years of observation of about 150 thousand women and men. During the study, many information was received, among which there were data on the consumption by participants in the experiment of meat and meat products, as well as information about the incidence among such people to “eat deliciously” type 20 diabetes.
From all the information received, the authors were able to conclude: with daily excess of meat and meat products (conditional portion) by 0.5 servings for 4 years increases the risk of developing diabetes of the 2nd type by 48%.
At the same time, it is possible to reduce the development of one of the most dangerous diseases of our time by 14% only due to a decrease in meat consumption to 0.7 conditional portion.
It is worth noting that during the study, 1 conditional portion was equated with 85 grams of natural meat, not in cheese, but ready, for example, in the preparation of steak or fried meat, as well as 28 grams of meat products that were subjected to special processing (we are talking about sausage sales with sales , smoked meat) or 1 sausage, the weight of which does not exceed 45 grams.
