Belgian scientist Mark Kleis conducted a study according to the results of which it became known that weather conditions have a strong effect on people who are subject to diseases of the cardiovascular system. For example, during winter frosts and cold, the number of heart attacks is growing rapidly. Mark Kleis and his colleagues presented the established connection between the state of health and the weather in the work submitted at the conference of the European Association of Cardiologists.
16 thousand people took part in the study. Its main task is to identify what influence the environment has on the well -being of people who suffer from heart disease. Scientists really hoped to establish a connection between an increasing number of heart attacks and excessive air pollution. At the same time, they managed to detect another pattern: it turns out that the weather is cold causes the growth of heart attacks.
For their part, doctors managed to find an explanation for this phenomenon. The fact is that skin receptors that respond to cold are not only stimulated at a fairly low temperature, but also drive a sympathetic nervous system. As a result, the body increases the amount of adrenaline, as well as those chemicals that increase the risk of heart attack. Another “dangerous” factor in the winter is the risk of blood clots due to the fact that blood becomes thicker.
But cold is not the only reason that can provoke heart problems. So, researchers from the UK found out that unhappy love is one of the possible reasons for a sharp deterioration in human well -being. It can also occur due to strong joy, since it leads to a powerful emission of adrenaline, which paralyzes the work of the lower heart chambers, which leads to a heart attack.
