Minister of Health of Russia in. Skvortsova said that doctors in clinics during the reception of patients spend on filling out documents from 65% to 70% of the time allotted for taking the patient. This time, according to the minister, can be devoted to the direct study of the patient’s condition.
The first study that showed the significance of writings was conducted in the USSR, in 1981. Then the procedure for primary and subsequent examinations of patients with various relevant doctors was investigated. According to studies, it turns out that already during the time of the USSR, a therapist, a surgeon, a traumatologist or an optometrist, rather performed, rather, clerk than medical functions. According to Skvortsova, the system of electronic paperwork and document management, which is currently being implemented in medical practice, will be able to change the situation. In the near future, personal computers connected to a single information base will install all doctors in the reception rooms. The base contains clinical protocols, reference materials, medical library. But most importantly, in the electronic system there are already filled forms, which will only need to be printed, without filling out by hand. Innovations in medicine should not only increase the correctness of diagnoses, but also facilitate the work of doctors, because they are not enthusiastic about the need to fill a lot of forms. The regulations created many years ago does not allow in the current conditions to ensure the effective work of doctors. Sometimes huge lines form in clinics. All this is one of the reasons that makes people turn to sometimes unverified methods of traditional medicine and self -medicate. Competently organized medicine, as practice shows, is able not only to increase the average life expectancy, but also significantly improve the quality of life, especially in old age.
